The people of Jura gave their newly elected Federal Councilor Elisabeth Baume-Schneider a warm welcome.
Between 1500 and 2000 people waved flags in Delsberg to cheer the citizen of Les Breuleux.
Elisabeth Baume-Schneider is the first female Federal Councilor of Switzerland’s youngest canton.

With the extra train from Bern, Elisabeth Baume-Schneider arrived in Delsberg at 2 p.m. Despite the cold, wet weather, the crowd had already gathered on the Avenue de la Gare. Many did not want to miss the historic moment.
Around 800 children stood guard as the official procession of guests passed, led by the new SP Federal Councilor and the outgoing magistrate Simonetta Sommaruga from Bern.
