(Reuters) – Israeli Prime Minister Yar Lapid and Turkish President Tayyip Erdogan met on Tuesday at the United Nations General Assembly in New York, the Israeli leader’s cabinet said.
Relations between the two long-standing estranged countries have warmed up lately, and the two leaders discussed issues relating to energy, a key area of cooperation between Turkey and Israel.
Yar Lapid thanked Tayyip Erdogan for the intelligence cooperation between the two countries, and demanded the return of four of his citizens, two of whom are soldiers, missing in the Gaza Strip since the 2014 war, added the office of the Israeli Prime Minister.
