First semi-final game – merciless KAC! Red jackets drive over Pustertal

What an exclamation mark! The Red Jackets swept Pustertal off the ice in the semi-final opener at home and celebrated a 7-1 triumph. The can opener was a double act.

What a great start to the semi-final series! And a KAC duo got the red ship on course early on: Herburger set up beautifully for Haudum twice – and the striker scored with a sharp shot to make it 1-0 (5th) and 2-0 (12th). There were many chances on both sides, but Klagenfurt’s defense held firm. KAC was superior in terms of running. Within six minutes, the home team put the lid on the game very early in the second half! First Kraus scored after a Ganahl cross pass (28th), then Bischofberger from close range and Strong with a flick into the top corner – and in the 34th minute it was 5-0! The KAC kept running around the ears of the South Tyroleans, who were unusually open defensively. The Klagenfurt team also handled the Pustertal toughness well, didn’t let up for a second – and celebrated a huge 7-1 win in the end. This makes it 1-0 for the KAC in the semi-final series.
