first shipments this Friday, Actualité/Actu Quotidien

A good start for the 2023 energy voucher campaign. Shifted by one month compared to last year, it begins this Friday, April 21. The first beneficiaries of this aid will receive it from next Monday, since the time between sending the energy checks and receiving them is generally between 2 and 4 days.

As every year, the calendar is spread over several weeks, depending on the departments of residence of their beneficiaries. The last checks will be sent the week of May 30.

What are the eligibility conditions for the energy voucher in 2023?

5.8 million households are eligible for energy vouchers this year. Aid will be allocated to households whose reference tax income (RFR) per consumption unit was less than €11,000 in 2021 – a ceiling slightly revised upwards compared to last year (€10,800).

Apart from this income criterion, households must also occupy accommodation (formerly) subject to housing tax, and have declared their income to the tax services, even in the case of low or zero income.

Households that meet all of these allocation criteria do not have to take any particular steps. The sending of these checks is automatic.

What will be the amount of these energy vouchers?

The amount of the checks will be between €48 and €277 depending on the composition of the household and the amount of its income, according to the scale table sent by the executive.

For example, a household made up of two adults and two children whose RFR per consumption unit is between €5,700 and €6,800 will receive an energy check of €202 this year.

How to use the energy voucher?

Energy checks can be used to pay energy bills (gas, electricity, wood, fuel, etc.) or for energy renovation work. They can be combined with the MaPrimeRénov’ aid.

The work must be carried out by a certified professional “Recognized guarantor of the environment” (RGE). If they are made before the validity date written on the check, the invoices can be paid directly with these checks.

It is also possible to finance work carried out in the following two years by exchanging your check before its expiry for another valid for two additional years on the chequeenergie.gouv.fr portal or by telephone on 0808 800 700.

Energy checks also benefit residents of Ehpad, Ehpa, USLD and ESLD, who can give them to their manager who will pass them on to their fee.

How long are energy vouchers valid for?

Checks are issued for the calendar year and can be used until March 31 of the following year. Those sent this spring will be valid until March 31, 2024.
