First win of the season against Davos – Lausanne wins thanks to powerplay double strike in the final third – Sport

Lausanne can still win against Davos this season. After 3 defeats, the people of Vaud won 4:3 away in the last duel of the season on Friday. They decided the entertaining game thanks to a double strike in the final third.

HCD conceded the first penalty of the game in the 43rd minute, then it took Lausanne just six seconds to equalize to make it 3-3. Jiri Sekac, with his second goal of the game, used a rebound after the successful offensive face-off. Less than a minute later, defender Lukas Frick came to the target and scored the game-winning goal to make it 4:3 – a nice shot into the high right corner.

It’s the 4th defeat in the 5th game for the Grisons since the New Year, and they have to start worrying about being in 6th place. Lausanne HC is slowly approaching them and the direct playoff places.

Instead of 2:2 it is 3:1

The game had already got off to an ideal start for the guest from western Switzerland. Davos played poorly in defence, as they did repeatedly in the last few games, and made it possible for Jiri Sekac to make it 1-0 early (4th).

As a result, HCD was able to hit back thanks to two powerplay goals by Axel Simic (13th) and Raphael Prassl (17th) and seemed to take control of the game.

Shortly before the break it was 2:2 instead of 3:1. First Yannick Frehner from Graubünden failed at the post, only a few seconds later Lausanne took advantage of the temporary disorganization on the other side and made it 2: 2 through Damien Riat. The striker defeated Sandro Aeschlimann between the legs.

Corvi’s single action remains useless

In the middle third, HCD was able to take a 3:2 lead again thanks to a nice individual action by Enzo Corvi. But because of the strong power play of the Vaudois in the final third, this was of no use in the end.
