Fitbit is launching a major campaign to migrate users of its activity bracelets to a Google account. A transfer which will be finalized and definitive from 2025.
Google has made the Pixel Watch 2 official, and in the opinion of many testers, the functionalities of the connected accessory make it an ideal candidate for the title of “all-purpose watch”. While the Fitbit name is inseparable from sports bracelets and connected watches, the Pixel Watch is increasingly focusing on health to appeal to the general public and athletes.
Although both owned by Google, the watches Pixel and Fitbit were until now confined in a particular area, the two ranges seem destined to come together. Google begins sending messages informing users of Fitbit Charge 6 and other Sense 2 bracelets that they will need transfer their data to a Google account by 2025. After this period, sports and health data previously stored on Fitbit servers will no longer be accessible without a Gmail account.
