Fitbit announces that it has redefined the section dedicated to sleep in its application. It’s now even easier to track your sleep habits. To you fat people (or not)!

After being at the heart of a controversy concerning battery problems linked to an update, Fitbit is in the news again today, but in a positive way this time. In fact, the brand has given its mobile application a makeover, with the added bonus of better analysis of users’ sleep.

New sleep side at Fitbit

For several years now, Fitbit has been responsible for monitoring our health, like an electronic coach. The brand does this through connected watches (like Google’s Pixel Watch 2), but also through small activity trackers. In addition to sporting activities, Fitbit is also responsible for ensuring that we sleep well.

Thus, the brand indicates that it has rethought the sleep experience within its application. This makes it easier to see all the information at a glance, with sleep duration, general score, deep and light sleep phases, etc. All displayed on a single page.

First on Android, soon on iOS

For those who want more, the graph also allows anyone to analyze their sleep very precisely. By modifying the slider, we can, for example, know exactly what time we woke up last night, or when our deep sleep ended.

Tracking also allows us to know our sleep habits over months, years, etc. Currently, this new version of the Fitbit application is available on Android and should arrive soon on the iOS side.

Remember that for several years now, Fitbit has been an integral part of the giant Google. It was in 2019 that the American group announced its desire to acquire the brand. The buyout was finalized a little less than two years later, for the sum of $2.1 billion.

Fitbit Charge 5

  • Completely redesigned design
  • Highly efficient AMOLED screen
  • Very easy to access interface

Fitbit’s brand new connected bracelet blows hot and cold. If we can only be enthusiastic about the change in design and the quality of the screen, we remain unsatisfied when it comes to the rest. The Charge 5 seems a little too light in certain aspects to us. It lacks utility functions, is not the most accurate in sports readings and only delivers its full potential by paying for the Premium subscription at almost €10/month.

Given its high price, it will be difficult to recommend it at the moment. It will be wiser to wait for a few promotions and updates before going for it. Unless you absolutely want to take advantage of ECG and AED, you might as well invest in the Charge 4 or a competing activity tracker like the Huawei Watch Fit.
