Five campsites to discover in Ile-de-France, from Val-d’Oise to Seine-et-Marne

Those who would like to avoid Paris during the Olympic Games or those who, on the contrary, are looking for accommodation to attend the sporting events can move away from the capital and discover the region’s outdoor hotels. On the menu, little-known corners of Ile-de-France that are worth the detour, between havens of peace in the middle of nature and establishments designed to please children.

Les Rives de Paris campsite: living in a “tiny house”

On 3 hectares of land, this municipal campsite surprises with its calm, even though it is only about twenty minutes on foot from the RER A station Neuilly-Plaisance, halfway between the center of the capital and Disneyland Paris. Its advantages ? Recent infrastructure dating from 2021 and a privileged location between the marina and the Haute-Ile park, in Neuilly-sur-Marne (Seine-Saint-Denis). The bare pitches are surrounded by abundant and colorful vegetation – in spring at least – for more privacy. At the end of the road, twenty tiny houses (tiny houses) are available for rent.

In terms of equipment, there is plenty to do, with several bowling alleys, a green theater, a children’s play area and a beach volleyball court. Favorite for the henhouse and the vegetable garden which supply tourists (on request). Connected planchas, operating with an application, will delight meat and technology lovers. What’s new for 2024? Rental of electric boats to sail on the Marne and find swimming spots near Chelles (Seine-et-Marne).

The Sandaya Maisons-Laffitte campsite: the coquetry of an island

If the large outdoor hotel chains can be impersonal, this is not the case for this human-sized campsite of around 6 hectares. Especially since the establishment is a ten-minute walk from the RER A, Maisons-Laffitte stop, which puts the Champs-Elysées around half an hour away. The icing on the cake is that the site is surrounded by water, on an island a stone’s throw from the center of Maisons-Laffitte, a pretty town in Yvelines.

In terms of equipment, everything is there: swimming pool, bubble pool, bouncy castle, sports field, pétanque and ping-pong tables. For sleeping, 170 pitches are available, some with a view of the Seine: you can set up a tent, van or camper van there. For those who want access to more comfort, there are 112 bungalows, called “cottages”, with a rather sober interior, whose comfort varies depending on the range of accommodation (from “two shells” to “prestige” ). The campsite has thought of groups of friends with the Cottage Friends, bringing together two large bungalows by a common terrace. Some recent cabins allow you to gain height up to 4 meters above sea level. Even if it is discreet, a vegetable garden is also offered to customers, who can help themselves to fruits and vegetables.
