Five-figure damage – police catch multiple shoplifters in Flachgau

Officials were able to arrest a Moroccan and an Italian in Straßwalchen. The thieving duo repeatedly targeted drugstores and supermarkets.

Since February 20, there have been several shopliftings in drugstores and a grocery store in Flachgau and neighboring Upper Austria. On the afternoon of February 28th, a 31-year-old Moroccan citizen was arrested in Straßwalchen as a suspect in a theft from a drugstore. During the interrogation, the Moroccan confessed to the allegations. A 21-year-old Italian was also arrested by the police on the evening of March 1st for a theft in the drugstore in Straßwalchen. He also confessed during the interrogation. The two people arrested committed at least nine shopliftings, some of them together. The total damage is currently eleven thousand euros. The suspects resold the stolen items. Both men were taken to the Salzburg prison.
