Five injured – entry denied: excessive violence in front of a Viennese disco

Because he was denied entry to the disco, a 21-year-old man completely lost control on Wednesday night in Vienna. He attacked the two security staff, directed his anger against the officers when the police arrived and attacked them. Three policemen suffered such serious injuries that they had to be taken to the hospital. One of them could not continue the service.

The dispute broke out around 0.45 a.m. in front of the U4 dance hall in the Meidling district. The two security officers denied the young Austrian access to the disco, whereupon the young suspect attacked. The two employees were injured.

Punches and head butts
In the meantime, the police had already been alerted. When clarifying the matter, however, the 21-year-old became more and more aggressive, the police said on Wednesday. Suddenly the suspect also attacked the uniformed men with blows and head butts.

Officials brought to the hospital
The attacker was ultimately overwhelmed and arrested. Three officers then had to be taken to hospital and treated. One of them had to stop working because of pain in his knee and groin.
