Five injured – Teenage clique tried to ram police car

Four minors stole a vehicle in Linz and were pursued by the police as they fled onto the A7. There were dangerous scenes. The 14-year-old driver eventually lost control of the car and collided with two other cars.

The four suspects are 13 (one) and 14 years old – two of whom are already officially known. On Wednesday, the underage quartet is said to have stolen a VW Golf in the morning hours in the south of Linz. The vehicle was later sighted near Traun, a police barrier set up. Police car tried to ram. The driver (14) is said to have driven directly into a patrol car at high speed. Only through an evasive maneuver could police officers prevent a frontal crash at the last second. “Only a few centimeters were missing,” says Heide Klopf from the state police department. With up to 150 km/h in the urban area, the four teenagers are said to have temporarily managed to escape the executive. But the VW Golf was spotted again on the A7, and the pursuit resumed. Klopf: “At Treffling, the 14-year-old first left the autobahn and then returned to the A7 in the direction of Linz.” About two kilometers later, the Golf crashed into the car of a woman from Innsbruck (41) and then collided with the car of a 33 -year-olds from Gallneukirchen. Arrests Both drivers and three of the four boys were injured. “The quartet was arrested and the 13-year-old was later released,” said Klopf. All cars were totaled.
