The first Five Nights at Freddy’s, adapted from the video games of the same name, was a huge success despite rather negative reviews. It not only grossed over $291 million at the worldwide box office (budget $20 million), but also became the Blumhouse-produced feature film with the best debut, shattering the studio’s record by grossing $78 million. upon its release.

Directed by Emma Tammi, the first opus follows the story of Mike (Josh Hutcherson) as he accepts a job as a night watchman in a pizzeria with very sinister nocturnal activities. Once midnight comes, the restaurant’s mascots actually start killing everyone present on the premises.

The end of the film left enough doors open to imagine a sequel, but we do not yet know precisely what it will be about. Will it be a direct continuation of the story of the first opus? From an adaptation of another game in the video game franchise Five Nights at Freddy’s ? We’ll have to wait until 2025 to find out.
