A five-year-old girl died on Saturday after being hit by a skier at the resort of Flaine (Haute-Savoie), emergency services said on Sunday.
The firefighters intervened shortly after 11:30 a.m. on Saturday to rescue a five-year-old child, hit by a skier, said the Codis (fire and rescue operational center) of Haute-Savoie.
Investigation
The child died in the helicopter which transported her to the hospital, despite the first aid provided by the skier, himself a volunteer firefighter, specifies the regional daily Le Dauphine Libéré.
The accident happened while the girl was taking part in a lesson at the French Ski School, a member of the ESF staff confirmed to AFP. The investigation was entrusted to the research brigade of the Bonneville gendarmerie.
