Five years old – boy falls badly in the apartment: by helicopter to the hospital

A boy was seriously injured on Monday evening in a fall in an apartment in Vienna’s tenth district. The five-year-old had to be taken care of by the emergency doctor and flown to a hospital.

The boy fell so unhappily while playing in an apartment that he broke a severe and painful bone. The concerned parents called the rescue. A team of paramedics from Vienna’s professional rescue team drove to the location on Otto-Probst-Straße with a flashing light and a secondary tone horn and began providing first aid to the young patient.

However, because the severity of the fracture required immediate drug therapy and rapid and gentle transport to a clinic, the ÖAMTC emergency doctor’s helicopter Christophorus 9 was also requested.

Landing in the park near the residential complex
The experienced rescue pilot landed the ultra-modern flying intensive care unit on a meadow near the residential complex, right next to a footpath. The emergency doctor, flight rescuer and paramedics continued treating the boy together. Then the brave little patient was flown together with his mother by Christophorus 9 to a Viennese hospital. A police patrol secured the area for the start of the helicopter.
