The manufacturer should offer an update to macOS in the coming days to resolve this problem, which can allow a website to access a lot of personal data.

A few days ago, a major flaw was discovered in the Safari browser.

An update of the various OS expected in the coming weeks

As a reminder, this bug allowed, if exploited, a website to access recent browsing history, but also data from its Google account entered and stored in the browser after connection to one of the services. from the search giant.

Apple engineers are already on the lookout for a fix, as shown in a GitHub topic dedicated to WebKit, the company’s open-source rendering engine at work in Safari.

It remains to be seen when Apple will offer a fix to its iOS and macOS users. To do this, it will probably have to go through an update of the operating systems. Indeed, on mobiles and tablets, applications are required by Apple to use WebKit for their integrated browser. The Apple firm therefore does not offer an update for Safari only.

The next beta versions of these different OS could ship this patch before public availability in the coming weeks.
