(AOF) – Fleury Michon made a profit of 4 million euros in 2021, after recording a loss of 30.5 million the previous year. The agri-food group also posted a current operating margin rate of 2%, compared to 2.6% in 2020, marked by operational gains reinvested in support of the Fleury Michon brand. Turnover for its part recorded a decrease of 4.1%, affected by the GMS activity, whose sales were down 4.2% compared to the previous financial year, which had been driven by the effects of the confinement of March to May 2020.

In comparison with 2019, the GMS activity posted an increase of +3.7% in 2021.

The airline catering and meal tray delivery markets have continued to suffer from the effects of the health crisis since March 2020. Sales in the International and Sales with Services Divisions fell by 57.3% and 55.8% respectively. compared to 2019.

Given the complex and uncertain environment, Fleury Michon does not communicate any quantified outlook to date for 2022 due to the war in Ukraine and the current episode of avian flu. The group believes that the new financial year will once again be very volatile due to the very sharp rises in costs, which concern both agricultural raw materials and inputs (gas, electricity, diesel, packaging).

A booming fair trade in France
