There is a new person at Binance.US: a genuine antitrust law expert from Intel named Sidney Majalya.

The US subsidiary of Binance announced on Thursday that it has hired Intel’s top compliance manager as the crypto exchange’s chief risk officer. Sidney Majalya is a former federal antitrust attorney. Before that, he headed, among other things, the compliance offices of Oracle and Over. His new position at Binance.US he will start in January, as it says in his tweet.

In light of our focus on making Binance.US the most compliant, consumer-centric digital asset platform in the U.S., I know the organization will benefit greatly from Sidney’s vast experience, talent, and judgment

, writes Brian Shroder, CEO of Binance.US, in a blog post.

Binance.US is serious about regulation

As a former Legal and Chief Compliance Officer at Intel, Majalya should be very familiar with antitrust, anti-corruption, and other legal compliance regulations. In addition, at the beginning of his career from 2004 to 2014 he worked as a trial attorney in the antitrust department of the US Department of Justice.

The hiring of Majalya at Binance.US is a clear indication that the exchange is serious about compliance with regulations. This could be vital as U.S. lawmakers continue to put pressure on the nascent crypto industry, which market observers believe is under-regulated. However, within the US government there are very different views on this.
