SpaceX shared a selection of photos in late July showing the third mission involving a Falcon Heavy rocket. The photos are, once again, sensational.
Initially expected on the morning of July 27, then on the 28th, the Falcon Heavy’s third flight of the year finally took place on the 29th. Third flight of the year for SpaceX’s largest operational rocket, but also third success. The launcher behaved as expected, releasing its payloads into space, while its two boosters returned to Earth.
The American company plans two more launches with the Falcon Heavy in 2023, then others in the following years. This rocket, which is an assembly combining a Falcon 9 rocket with two other launchers of this model, but deprived of their upper part, must however be replaced in the long term by the Starship, a huge rocket whose development continues.
SpaceX has, as usual, shared on its Twitter / X account a selection of some shots showing the departure of the Falcon Heavy and several key moments of the mission – from the simultaneous ignition of the three boosters to the return of the two boosters, passing by ascension. Note a long take of a scene showing both the liftoff… and the return of the two boosters.
