An interview that follows his filing of a complaint against Patrick Poivre d’Arvor for rape. The author reiterates her accusations: the former presenter allegedly raped him twice, in 2004 and then in 2009. “Yes, I was aware that it was a rape: he prevented me from freeing myself from the corner where he blocked me despite my repeated requests, I told him no several times, there is no never had any doubt that it was rape “, explains the writer.
Media whirlwind and responses to criticism
At the question “How have you been feeling since the ‘PPDA affair’ broke?”, Florence Porcel declares that “It’s a difficult, trying process, it’s painful to see my story and my life told, commented on in the press and on social networks.” However, she can count on “countless supporters (…) Seeing that other women speak out and denounce facts similar to what I have suffered strengthens me every day”, she explains. The author does not hesitate, in the interview, to return to the various questions surrounding “of a consensual relationship” with PPDA in 2008. “It is a way for me to try to take back control of things, the thread of my life. I am not aware at that moment of this internal conflict in me”, she says, before adding: “In my case, I did not know that I had been a victim of rape. I did not come out of this denial until 2018, thanks to psychotherapy … But why always blame the victims rather than the abusers? The topic should be ‘Why is this famous man inviting a 36-year-old student his junior to his workplace, giving her advice on how to get published, in fact forcing her to have sex?’ (…) Whatever the context, nothing can justify a man raping a woman. “
Regarding his book Pandorini, published last January, Florence Porcel sees it as a work that aims to “be able to explain the mechanisms of denial, astonishment and the hold between a powerful man and a fragile and inexperienced woman.” And she refuses the idea of a “media stunt”, in the hope of selling the book. “If it’s just for publicity I can tell you the game is not worth the candle believe me. Let justice be done
Florence Porcel also says “very moved” by the courageous testimonies of other women who accuse PPDA of sexual assault. I do not want to dialogue with him through the media. The investigation will establish the facts, that’s all that matters.
