Media whirlwind and responses to criticism

The author does not hesitate, in the interview, to return to the various questions surrounding “of a consensual relationship” with PPDA in 2008. “It is a way for me to try to take back control of things, the thread of my life. I am not aware at that moment of this internal conflict in me”, she says, before adding: “In my case, I did not know that I had been a victim of rape. I did not come out of this denial until 2018, thanks to psychotherapy … But why always blame the victims rather than the abusers? The topic should be ‘Why is this famous man inviting a 36-year-old student his junior to his workplace, giving her advice on how to get published, in fact forcing her to have sex?’ (…) Whatever the context, nothing can justify a man raping a woman. “

Regarding his book Pandorini, published last January, Florence Porcel sees it as a work that aims to “be able to explain the mechanisms of denial, astonishment and the hold between a powerful man and a fragile and inexperienced woman.” And she refuses the idea of a “media stunt”, in the hope of selling the book. “If it’s just for publicity I can tell you the game is not worth the candle believe me. This story is going to haunt me for years, I don’t know how much it is going to break the bank. my career, of which I am particularly proud and which is all I have “, she says.
