Florence Pugh: You have to remember this name!

How to pronounce her surname, Florence Pugh, 24, explained herself quite magically on Twitter: as if you were replaying a shootout and making gun noises: "Pew, pew, pew" so: pjuu, pjuu, pjuu! It's good that she made that clear, because you don't just have to be able to pronounce the name of this young Englishwoman, you have to remember it. Florence Pugh is definitely on the rise.

Crowned the new queen of cinema

The first thing she really noticed in Germany last year was the colorful and bloodthirsty summer party horror "Midsommar". She was really great as a student, who drives with her selfish boyfriend and his friends to a multi-day hustle and bustle in a Scandinavian rural community, where one after the other comes to a picturesque end. Until there is only Florence left, with a gigantic flower crown on her head and the tiny hint of a triumphant smile in the corner of her mouth.

Anyone who has seen her like this will never forget her, crowned the new queen of cinema in every respect. Or at least to the princess – no one can have any doubt about that, who will see her in Greta Gerwig's remake of "Little Women" from January 30th. As the most spoiled of four sisters, she makes her figure so approachable and vulnerable and plays her with so much charm that you can't help but like this bellows. The enthusiastic critics agree that alongside a breathtaking Saoirse Ronan, she is the highlight of the film – even though Meryl Streep herself plays along! "Driving in a carriage next to Meryl Streep in my great costume was such a moment that I had to pinch myself," says Pugh, daughter of a restaurateur and a dancer, about the pace of her career.

In line with her serve in the film world, she also dates a colleague: director and actor Zach Braff ("Scrubs – The Beginners"), 20 years older than her. By the way, "Game of Thrones" fans know Florence’s big brother: Toby Sebastian, as he calls himself, played Trystane Martell, the meek young prince of Dorne. He simply left out his "Pjuu, pjuu" name.
