He’s getting better ! Since the beginning of spring, Florent Pagny returned to France, after several months spent in Patagonia. The singer made his comeback on the French scene, returning to the Olympia stage at the end of May, alongside Hiba Tawaji, former talent of The Voice, as well as at the Salle Pleyel. The sixty-year-old, accompanied by his wife Azucena Caamaño-Pagnyhas returned to Montfort-l’Amaury for several weeks, where he is the owner of a large residence which he returned to after several months of absence, to the great pleasure of his neighbors, delighted to see him again at the wheel of his Porsche or riding his motorbike.
But as our colleagues at TV Star in a survey dedicated to him and to be published this Monday, June 10, 2024 on newsstands, Florent Pagny recently gave a surprising interview, which will be available to listen to next September on the channel the addictologist Laurent Karila. The latter is not unknown to the general public, since he regularly participates in the show It starts today hosted by Faustine Bollaert. The healthcare professional offers a podcast called Additionin which he invites celebrities to confide in the addictions they may have faced.

In all honesty, the interpreter of Grow old with you or Anything spoke about his relationship with tobacco, which he suddenly stopped the day he learned of his cancer, but also his relationship with soft drugs, such as cannabis, which he admits to consuming for over thirty years. This drug, whose therapeutic virtues are recognized by the WHO, is still illegal in France, but cannabidiol (CBD), the cannabis molecule, is legalized, unlike its active ingredient, THC. A molecule which proved essential for Florent Pagny throughout the process of his illness, in order to cope as best as possible with the side effects induced by chemotherapy…
However, if Florent Pagny calls for the decriminalization of cannabis, he wants more than anything that its legalization is strictly regulated. Thus, the singer and former coach of The Voice wants twenty-somethings to be checked. The producer of the podcast, Stéphanie Guérin, testifies: “Florent is super simple, super generous, super sincere. He has a very strong view on decriminalization and legalization, but what is not known is that he also has a very firm point of view on the period of adolescence. He retraced his entire personal history with cannabis and he clearly says that you should definitely not start smoking before the age of 20-22 because we burn our neurons. It’s too dangerous for teenagers.”
In this podcast interview, Florent Pagny looks back with emotion and modesty on the traveling friends he met when he was young, and who ended badly because of their overconsumption: “It’s his experience, he doesn’t want to make generalizations. He talks about friends who remained perched and he says that twenty years ago, when he came on TV sets, the smell of the firecracker preceded it. With what happened to him, he no longer smokes…”
