In the coming year Florian Silbereisen will be part of the new “DSDS” jury. Before the first shoot, he fights against stage fright.

The new episodes of “Deutschland sucht den Superstar” will not appear on RTL until 2022 and TV Now aired, but the new jury is already appearing in front of the camera for the first time for the production. Florian Silbereisen (39) has his first day of shooting on the “DSDS” set on Thursday, as reported by the “Bild” newspaper. In an interview with “Bild Live”, Silbereisen revealed that despite all his experience, he has a lot of stage fright: “The older I get, the worse it gets. The night was short, it feels like before the first live show in 2004 on ARD . ” And “DSDS” is not even completely new territory for him. In 2020 he helped out as a juror at the live shows.

When evaluating the candidates, the TV star and singer apparently wants to be less tough than the former “DSDS” veteran Dieter Bohlen (67) – even if he wants to be honest. “I have to give a verdict and that will ultimately help the candidates too,” explains Silbereisen. “False praise” is of no use, but there is “a difference between judging and condemning”.

The new jury is “a wonderful team”

Silbereisen wants to be “open to everything”, as he continues. For example, it doesn’t matter which genre a candidate has chosen: “The main thing is that he or she can sing well. After all, we want to find a superstar in the end – the genre of music doesn’t matter.”

Before that, the 39-year-old met his new jury colleagues for the first time on Wednesday – the music producer Toby Gad (53) and the Dutch singer Ilse DeLange (44). Gad posted a picture of the trio on Instagramlaughing at the camera in a ferris wheel. “The new jury, a wonderful team,” commented the producer. “Woohoooooooo”, Ilse DeLange answered happily.
