Mireille Mathieu will celebrate her 75th birthday on July 22nd. Florian Silbereisen addressed loving words to his sponsor beforehand.

Pop star and “DSDS” juror Florian Silbereisen (39) has in a guest post in the “Bild am Sonntag” Birthday wishes addressed to Mireille Mathieu. The French singer turns 75 on July 22nd. When he was just 22 years old and was allowed to present a Saturday evening show on ARD for the very first time and hardly anyone believed in him, “You stood by my side”, the singer addressed his words directly to his sponsor Millions of records and CDs sold as one of the most successful singers in the world.

An unforgettable evening in Paris

For the early support in his career he will forever be grateful to the musician who was his “lucky charm” at the time, Silbereisen explains. Since then, the two have never lost sight of each other. The singer fondly thinks back to Mathieu’s invitation to her 60th birthday in Paris, where Silbereisen also met her family. “We had a great conversation – although I don’t speak a single word of French! Since that unforgettable evening we have toasted your birthday together every year in this group, always with your Maman.”

The latter will raise the champagne glass “up in heaven” to Mathieu this year. “Congratulations, all the best and all the best. 1,000 kisses,” says Silbereisen, ending his contribution. He and Mathieu have had a professional and private friendship for years, the two performed together several times, including in 2018 at the ARD “Advent Festival of 100,000 Lights”.
