Once again a maize drying plant, this time in Deutsch Jahrndorf, caught fire. Three fire departments were in action for more than five hours.
The fire brigades in Deutsch Jahrndorf, Frauenkirchen and Zurndorf were alerted at 3:51 p.m. They worked for more than five hours to report the fire. The maize had to be fetched from the silo in order to be able to carry out the extinguishing work efficiently. The police were also on duty. Only at the end of October there had been two fires in drying facilities in Zurndorf.
