Flown to the hospital – cyclists had to be reanimated after an accident


A 57-year-old cyclist from Oberlienz had to be resuscitated after colliding with a cyclist (79) from Lienz on the state road in Tristach (East Tyrol) on Friday afternoon. The 57-year-old was then flown to the Klagenfurt Clinic by rescue helicopter. The 79-year-old was uninjured.

The 57-year-old from Oberlienz was on his bike at around 5 p.m. on the state road in Tristach in the direction of Lienz. At the same time, a 79-year-old from Lienz wanted to turn into the L 318 from a local road, also by bicycle, and apparently overlooked the 57-year-old. The collision occurred, after which the 57-year-old lay lifeless on the road. A witness started the rescue chain. The 57-year-old had to be resuscitated on the spot and then flown to the Klagenfurt Clinic by emergency doctor’s helicopter. The 79-year-old was uninjured.
