Fnac and Darty can now repair iPhones with official parts


The WeFix brands, present in the stores of the Fnac/Darty group, are joining the network of Apple Authorized Service Centers (CSAA). They will offer repairs once reserved for Apple and its partners.

WeFix, the Fnac subsidiary specializing in repairs, has just obtained approval from Apple. Thanks to this change, the Fnac / Darty group will be able to offer its customers official parts directly supplied by Apple, while not playing with the guarantee of the products it repairs when it performs a manipulation. A change of screen in a Fnac store will be equivalent to that which an Apple Store could carry out, which should offer iPhone or iPad owners much more choice than before. In Apple Stores, the wait is sometimes very long.

Fnac/Darty wants to sell, and repair

By joining forces with Apple, the Fnac/Darty group undertakes to train its repairers in official Apple methods. It should obtain new machines dedicated to repair, which its technicians will master during 2022 (when this partnership will begin). Fnac/Darty will also market the official AppleCare warranties rather than its in-house extensions, which will allow repairs to be made at Apple and at WeFix for longer.

With these changes, the Fnac/Darty group continues to diversify in the face of e-commerce players who are doing so much harm to certain physical brands. Through its digital business, new in-store initiatives and repair services, Fnac/Darty is developing new ways to show you around its stores. Apple should soon list the Fnac/Darty stores on its site.

Later in 2022, Apple promised that it will market spare parts itself in the name of right to repair. Customers will now have the choice between a repair by certified technicians, or directly at home if they think they can succeed.
