PARIS (Agefi-Dow Jones)–The investment company Vesa Equity Investment, controlled by the Czech businessman Daniel Kretinsky, has crossed the threshold of 10% of the capital of the specialized distributor Fnac Darty, according to a notice published Friday by the Financial Markets Authority (AMF).

As of March 7, 2022, Vesa Equity Investment held 10.1% of the capital and voting rights of Fnac Darty. This threshold crossing results from an acquisition of Fnac Darty shares on the market. Vesa Equity Investment said it holds 2,702,770 shares in the specialist distributor.

In a declaration of intent to the AMF, valid for the next six months, the Luxembourg-based fund indicated that it planned to continue its purchases of Fnac Darty shares in order to increase its stake, but without intending to acquire control of the company. Vesa Equity Investment does not plan to request the appointment of one or more members to the board of directors of Fnac Darty either.

Vesa Equity Investment announced last February that it held more than 5% of the capital of Fnac Darty. The fund, which made a name for itself in France by taking a stake in various media groups or in the distributor Casino, then indicated that it wanted to continue to diversify its investments.

On the Paris Stock Exchange, the Fnac Darty share rose 1.2% to 46.16 euros.
