Fnac Darty: Daniel Kretinsky’s Vesa fund holds 15% of the capital

PARIS (Agefi-Dow Jones)–The investment company Vesa Equity Investment, controlled by the Czech businessman Daniel Kretinsky, has crossed the threshold of 15% of the capital of the specialized distributor Fnac Darty, according to a notice published Tuesday by the Financial Markets Authority (AMF).

Vesa Equity holds 4.015 million Fnac Darty shares representing 15.004% of the company’s capital and voting rights, the AMF said.

The fund, which has made a name for itself in France by taking stakes in various media groups or in the distributor Casino, announced last February that it held more than 5% of the capital of Fnac Darty.

He reaffirmed in the notice published on Tuesday that he does not intend to acquire control of the company or to seek the appointment of one or more members of the board of directors.

On the Paris Stock Exchange, the Fnac Darty share rose 1.4% to 48.14 euros.
