The Fnac Darty group is doing it again with the “House of Tomorrow”. After a first draft with the apartment of the future in 2019, the distribution giant invests the Atelier Richelieu in the 2nd arrondissement of Paris, from June 2 to 12, 2022, to present, via 12 rooms, its vision of the house of tomorrow. The opportunity to get an idea of what your everyday life will look like with the new connected objects. This house of tomorrow remains very contemporary, since all the tech products presented are or will very soon be marketed. It is by no means a futuristic vision of what the connected home could be in the more or less near future. Even less a vision of the house of tomorrow in the metaverse!
The idea is to allow the general public to stroll through this space designed to offer the best tech experiences by environment. Each of the rooms in the house (kitchen, bedrooms, living room, bathroom, dining room, audio room, office, laundry room, etc.) brings together the best of innovation and technology offered by the biggest brands on the market.
A vast high-tech showroom
Visitors will be able to discover LG’s famous roll-up television in the living room, or Xiaomi’s Cyberdog robot dog, but also the Asus Zenbook 17 Fold Oled PC in the bedroom or the ephemeral tattoo printer in the dining room. of bath. The Oppo Air Glass, which notably allows simultaneous translation, are also in the game. In the kitchen, it is possible to play with Popotte Duck, a varied and balanced tailor-made meal planner according to your profile… Most of these are products that we have already been able to handle. And not all of them are within the reach of all budgets. It takes 85,000 € for the rollable LG TV, 4000 € for the Asus PC…
Obviously, being now proactive in the durability and repairability of tech products, in particular with the acquisition of WeFix, the group plans to enhance the course within its house of advice and good practices, in particular with a space dedicated to the repair.
If the visitor can get a good idea of all the new technologies and premium products currently available on the market, this house of tomorrow is sadly lacking in projection and interconnection. Each of the rooms looks more like a state-of-the-art high-tech showroom than what we imagine the house of tomorrow, where the television screen will notably serve as a communication interface between its various gadgets and where connected products will interact with each other to create a unique and simple ecosystem for its user, all controlled by voice when returning home.
