Fnac Darty: wins its case in the Comet case

(CercleFinance.com) – The Fnac Darty group reports that in a judgment published today, the London Court of Appeal unanimously rejected the
arguments invoked by the opposing party against Darty Holdings SAS (subsidiary of the Fnac Darty group), in the context of the dispute linked to the sale of Comet Group Limited in 2012.

The decision rendered at first instance by the High Court of London having been overturned, the Group should receive by the end of the year the entire sum initially paid as well as reimbursement of the procedural costs incurred and interest, or some 130 million euros.

As a reminder, at first instance (i.e. in November 2022), the London High Court ruled in favor of the Comet liquidator.

Fnac Darty was then forced to pay £112 million in December 2022, but strongly contested the merits and
therefore appealed the decision.
