FNM and Alstom present Italy’s first hydrogen train

(AOF) – FNM, the leading integrated group in sustainable mobility in Lombardy, presented with Alstom (global mobility player) the Coradia Stream hydrogen train, marking the start of a new era in passenger rail transport in Italy. The train will enter commercial service in Val Camonica between the end of 2024 and the beginning of 2025, on Ferrovienord’s non-electrified Brescia-Iseo-Edolo line operated by Trenord, as part of the H2iseO project, which aims to create the first valley of the hydrogen from Italy in the Brescia region.

The Coradia Stream, which runs on hydrogen, meets the European objective of reducing C02 emissions by 100% by 2050.

It is the first Italian train with zero direct CO2 emissions equipped with hydrogen fuel cells, with a total capacity of 260 seats and a range of more than 600 km.
