Focal celebrates 10 years of its Aria range with the new Aria Evo X series

After 10 years of good and loyal service, it was time for Focal to rejuvenate its range of emblematic Aria 900 speakers. The new Aria Evo X series therefore replaces the old range with five new models: No. 1, No. 2 , No. 3, No. 4 and Center combining bookcase, column and central formats. Something to delight lovers of hi-fi and/or cinema experiences at home.

New technologies to perfect an already winning recipe

The entire new range of speakers benefits from a new TAM inverted dome tweeter with “M” profile which replaces the old TNF tweeter. It allows a wider reproduction of the spectrum by reaching 30 kHz, where the TNF model stopped at 28 kHz. Suffice to say that the difference is tiny, but Focal still announces a gain in fidelity and naturalness in the treble.

Focal has also revised the midrange driver suspension system by incorporating its own TMD technology. This should improve the stability of the whole and thus reduce distortion, providing better control of dynamics. The bass speakers, or woofers, benefit from a brand new motor system to improve the impact in the bass. The Saint-Etienne firm also announces that it has reworked the various filters that make up the speakers to improve the balance of the whole.

In summary, these new Aria Evo For the occasion, Focal is offering a new lacquered green finish, called Moss Green High Gloss, which complements the Black High Gloss black and Prime Walnut wood.

The Flax membrane still on the program

Although many technological innovations have been brought to this new Aria Evo Made in France from linen, these membranes have nothing left to prove and allow us to offer “a very natural sound, rich reproduction in the midrange and clean attacks in the low frequencies”.

The Flax membrane is not the only element inherited from the old Aria 900. We thus find perfectly identical templates, woodwork and looks between the two ranges.

Presentation of the Aria Evo X range

Let’s start the presentations with model No. 1, which replaces the Aria 906 model. Still in bookshelf format, it has a tweeter, a 16.5 cm midrange driver and a bass reflex vent on the front.
