It’s definitely the big transfer window right now in the world of video games, and especially in the French microcosm. Just a few days ago, we learned that Nacon got its hands on Midgar Studio, which has just released its console version ofEdge of Eternity. Today, it is Focus Home Interactive, or rather Focus Entertainment, which draws the portfolio in order to afford the services of Leikir Studiowhich prepares the release of Metal Slug Tactics.
After Nacon, Focus is buying
This acquisition is not really surprising given that Focus had already acquired Dotemu a few months ago, and that Dotemu shares a strong link with Leikir Studio, as we saw during our interview with Cyrille Imbert (Dotemu) and Aurélien Loos (Leikir Studio).
Leikir Studio joins Dotemu, Douze-Dixièmes, Streum On and Deck13 within the Focus group. Here is what Christophe Nobileaupresident of Focus Home Interactive, said following this takeover:
“ We are constantly looking for new talents capable of growing and supporting the ambitions of our group, and Leikir Studio, headed by Aurélien Loos, is a choice acquisition to achieve this objective. »
The studio is currently at work on Metal Slug Tacticsa revamped version of SNK’s cult saga, and plans to release its title sometime in 2022.
