Focus talks about the next games from Deck13 and Tindalos Interactive

If A Plague Tale: Requiem (Asobo) and Evil West (Flying Wild Hog) are shaping up to be the two biggest releases in the Focus catalog for 2022, alongside treats from its subsidiary Dotemu (Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Shredder’s Revenge, Pharaoh : A New Era, Metal Slug Tactics), the French publisher reveals that the end of its fiscal year ending March 31, 2023 will be marked by the release of an ambitious game developed by its German studio Deck13 (The Surge) and by a game from Tindalos Interactive based on an iconic film franchise, we’re told. Founded in 2010, Tindalos Interactive is already familiar with Focus, which published its strategy games Etherium (2015), Battlefleet Gothic: Armada (2016) and Battlefleet Gothic: Armada 2 (2019).

Mentioned for the first time, these two titles join recent announcements of newly formed partnerships with studios like Dream Powered Games (Warstride Challenges), Rundisc (Chants of Sennaar), Two Horizons (Hotel Renovator) and Different Tales which prepares “an immersive and benevolent experience“, according to last month’s press release. The publisher, however, gives no clue about the release window of its co-production with Dontnod, which will take over from Vampyr (2 million copies sold).

Focus Entertainment will communicate more about its portfolio of projects under development on June 16, 2022, when publishing the annual results. In the meantime, the annual turnover of Focus fell by 16% and reached 142.6 million euros against 171 million euros in the previous year. France represents 5% of this turnover, 88% of which comes from download platforms. SnowRunner, Insurgency: Sandstorm, A Plague Tale: Innocence, Necromunda: Hired Gun and Aliens: Fireteam Elite are mentioned among the main contributors.

After acquiring Deck13 in 2020, Focus saw triple in 2021 by buying Streum On, Dotemu and Douze-Dixièmes studios. At the start of 2022, Leikir became the publisher’s 5th studio.
