Every week, several dozen products are recalled in France. From consumables to children’s toys, we offer you a summary of product recalls for the week of December 12 to 16, 2022.

It is often quite difficult to keep up to date with product recalls. Every week several dozen new items and consumables are recalled, and the only way to find out is often to look at the small posters placed near the cash desks when you go shopping. Or refer to the site reminder.conso.gouv.fr, put in place by the government to precisely list them day after day. They provide an explanatory technical sheet which lists the batches concerned by the recall, and can provide contact numbers in the event of additional questions.

The reasons for these product recalls are multiple. For foodstuffs, this may be, for example, contamination with dangerous bacteria. Like for example listeria, responsible for listeriosis or salmonella, known for its dangerousness. Certain products may also be recalled following the detection offoreign bodies or allergens not mentioned. Useful objects or toys are also called occasionally if they can present a danger or if they are not up to standard. If it is not necessary to be alarmed by product recalls, it is more prudent to stay informed in order to limit the risks.

The list of products recalled the week of December 12 to 16

This week many products have been recalled. To help you find your way around, we give you a summary of the most important ones:

  • Of the armchairs for children in the shape of animals from Maisons du monderecalled because they have defects allowing toddlers to access the interior foam.
  • Of the blocks of duck foie gras from the Feyel brandrecalled following the proliferation of micro-organisms.
  • From munster AOP already affected by a product recall a few weeks ago following the discovery of listeria bacteria in cheese
  • Of the frozen surprise breads recalled throughout France because they would be contaminated by the bacterium Listeria monocytogenes
  • Of the white cheese tubes with fruit of the Paysan Breton brand sold in French overseas departments and territories under the name Turbofruit following a leak

In the vast majority of cases, if you have purchased any of these offending products, you can return them to the store where you found them. If your purchase is indeed part of the batches concerned, you will be able to obtain a refund. If you have already consumed these products and you begin to experience symptoms, do not hesitate to contact your doctor.
