The reasons for these product recalls are multiple. For foodstuffs, this may be, for example, contamination with dangerous bacteria. Like for example listeria, responsible for listeriosis or salmonella, known for its dangerousness. Certain products may also be recalled following the detection offoreign bodies or allergens not mentioned. Useful objects or toys are also called occasionally if they can present a danger or if they are not up to standard. If it is not necessary to be alarmed by product recalls, it is more prudent to stay informed in order to limit the risks.

- Of the frozen surprise breads recalled throughout France because they would be contaminated by the bacterium Listeria monocytogenes
- Of the white cheese tubes with fruit of the Paysan Breton brand sold in French overseas departments and territories under the name Turbofruit following a leak
In the vast majority of cases, if you have purchased any of these offending products, you can return them to the store where you found them. If your purchase is indeed part of the batches concerned, you will be able to obtain a refund.
