Folding money: Instructions for a butterfly
For this simple money folding tutorial you will need:
- two banknotes
- a rubber band or craft thread
And here’s how it works step by step:
- For the upper part of the butterfly, prepare the first banknote. Fold it horizontally in the middle and unfold it again.
- On the short side of the bill, fold both corners to the center line. Do the same on the opposite side.
- In the next step, place the note with the tips as it is in a Accordion folding To do this, fold a narrow strip inwards. Turn the banknote over. Now fold the narrow strip to this side. Repeat steps until the entire note is folded.
- Now take the second banknote for the lower part of the butterfly. This is folded like the first one, with one small change: fold it horizontally in the middle again and open it again.
- Now at the Fold a narrow strip inwards along the short edge of the bill. And as in step two, fold the corners back to the middle. Do the same for the opposite edge.
- Here, too, the two points remain intact. Fold again into an accordion shape.
- Place both folded notes together and use a rubber band or craft thread to gather the butterfly in the middle and pull it into shape.
