For their first outing of the season, Paris Saint-Germain swept FC Nantes 4-0 at the Trophée des Champions in Tel Aviv. This meeting laid the foundations for PSG version Christophe Galtier, with an attacking game that suits the stars of the team well: Neymar and Lionel, involved in three of the other Parisian goals.

First match, first trophy. Four days before the resumption of Ligue 1, Paris Saint-Germain have had a successful start to the season with flying colors. The Parisians beat Nantes 4-0 at the Champions Trophy in Tel Aviv, thanks in particular to a double from Neymar, a goal from Sergio Ramos and a comeback from Lionel Messi.

A sharp Lionel Messi

The Israeli fans had their eyes only for him and Lionel Messi gave them back. Disappointing last season, the Argentinian showed a completely different face this Sunday evening. Like his “Messiesque” goal where he dribbled past the goalkeeper before scoring with his right foot. A goal that launched the evening of the Parisians, winner 4-0 and physically sharp.

Nantes coach Antoine Kombouaré could only see the damage. “So we see players who want to play together. We see it in certain phases or when they lose the ball, they are able to press. It’s clear that it’s not the same PSG as the one we play. ‘we met last season”, launched the former Parisian.

A new PSG?

With this victory, Paris has definitively closed the Mauricio Pochettino page. The Christophe Galtier era opens with a title that the former Nice coach does not overuse. “Very happy with this first success. It’s an important success. We all appreciated what happened on the offensive level, with a lot of good technical sequences, a lot of relationships”, he explained in front of the journalists.

A new attitude that will have to be confirmed on Saturday in Clermont for the opening of the French Ligue 1 championship.
