The race for the title in Salzburg’s lower house of football is on the home straight. While Mittersill and Kaprun have been able to call themselves “champions” for some time now, Zell am See and Hof have joined the title holders.
While Mittersill and Kaprun have long been champions, two other teams in the lower house have now been able to claim the crown. Zell am See secured the 2nd Class South title with a 2:1 win against Uttendorf/Niedernsill. Thanks to the triumph against Scheffau, Hof can no longer be ousted from the 1st class north tip. Despite three seizures, Alexander Plank played almost to the end, heading in the 86th minute to make it 3-1. “Some stayed a little longer,” joked coach Thomas Kistner about the party night that followed.Son of a legend goesWhile things could remain exciting in the other leagues until the last matchday, Henndorf is only missing one point to bag the 1st state league title. “The goal was to stay in the league”, coach Franz Andessner, whose whereabouts are not yet certain, sees the table situation calmly.
