Football Marseille suspended by the DNCG

Marseille will have to provide “additional information” asked the DNCG on Tuesday before making its decision.

This is not the first time that OM have found themselves in this situation since during the 2020-2021 season, the club had already had to provide these elements before the body imposed on it a “supervision of the wage bill and transfer allowances.

Even under the supervision of the DNCG, OM had been active in the transfer window last season, even if certain operations were scrupulously checked. The signing of Amine Harit had thus been delayed for several days and validated only after an agreement around the staggering of the payment of the salaries of several players (Alvaro, Lirola, Balerdi…).

“A normal procedure”

The management of OM assured Tuesday that the decision was part “in a normal procedure”, without making further comment. The club will present the elements requested by the body, which will make its decision before the start of the transfer window scheduled for June 9.

Even if the qualification for the Champions League obtained ten days ago guarantees him a significant inflow of money, OM remains an economically fragile club and its accounts have been in the red for several years.

Marseille is struggling in particular to make sales on the transfer market. A week ago, OM saw Boubacar Kamara, from his training center and called up for the French team for the first time, leave the club free and without transfer compensation, at the end of his contract.
