Olympique Lyonnais Group OLG.PA formalized on Saturday the appointment of Laurent Prud’homme, former director of the L’Equipe group, to the position of general manager of the football club.
“Laurent Prud’homme will be responsible for the direction and management of all day-to-day operations of Olympique Lyonnais, under the direct responsibility of John Textor”, who bought the club at the end of 2022, said the OLG in a press release. .
John Textor, American businessman, has served as president and, on an interim basis, as general manager since the departure of Jean-Michel Aulas, emblematic president of OL for 36 years.
“Final decisions on ‘football matters’ will continue to be taken by John Textor; the football department of Olympique Lyonnais (including the coach/manager and the future sporting director) will however report directly to Laurent Prud’homme” , specifies the press release from the club, stuck this season in last place in the Ligue 1 championship.
Laurent Prud’homme, who is 49 years old, will join OL at the start of 2024,
at the latest in February, he adds.
