In February, the club’s Qatari president, Nasser Al-Khelaïfi, announced that the departure of the Parc des Princes, which the town hall refuses to sell, was now inevitable. Since then, PSG has been studying various options for sites where to build a new stadium, larger and adapted to its needs.

Decided from the Parc des Princes, Paris Saint-Germain plans to build its future stadium at the Saint-Cloud racecourse, in Hauts-de-Seine, a source close to management told AFP on Saturday, confirming information from the newspaper The Team. In February, the club’s Qatari president, Nasser Al-Khelaïfi, announced that the departure of the Parc des Princes, which the town hall refuses to sell, was now inevitable. A decision reaffirmed to AFP on Saturday by the same source.

The racecourse does not belong to Paris town hall

Since then, PSG has been studying various options for sites where to build a new stadium, larger and adapted to its needs. The Saint-Cloud racecourse is among the hottest tracks. It belongs to France Galop and not to the Paris town hall like the Longchamp and Auteuil racecourses. The site, large enough to accommodate the stadium in addition to the horse races, has the advantage for management of offering a view of Paris and the Eiffel Tower, writes The Team.

However, as the sports daily points out, a PSG installation at the Saint-Cloud Hippodrome would require densifying and strengthening the public transport offer, currently insufficient to meet the crowds on a match evening.
