Only four and a half months after his extension to Paris Saint-Germain, Kylian Mbappé again has desires elsewhere. The French international no longer feels well in the Parisian club. According to a source very close to the player joined by the sports service of Europe 1, the 23-year-old striker is not in “the best psychological state”. He would now be affected by the situation, in particular by the verbal promises not kept. Conditions which had nevertheless been negotiated and which had allowed Paris Saint-Germain to keep their star.
According to information from Europe 1, during his extension, Kylian Mbappé would have obtained certain guarantees from management and in particular the recruitment of a professional center forward. This attacker never arrived.
A broken trust
Among the sensitive issues that have affected the relationship of trust between Mbappé’s entourage and the club, there is also Neymar’s contractual situation and his possible departure. As a result, the links between Mbappé’s close guard and President Nasser al-Khelaïfi as well as the Portuguese Antero Henrique who has a role as sports adviser would be broken.
But the unease between the two parties is not new. Still according to information from Europe 1, Kylian Mbappé had already asked to leave this summer, in July. The Parisian striker is therefore more than ever open to leaving the club, from the next winter transfer window.
Mbappé’s positioning in question
Another point of contention is its positioning. The player does not like the position assigned to him. After the sad draw (0-0) against Reims last weekend, using the hashtag “PivotGang”, the native of Bondy had ironically criticized his place as pivot in a publication on the social network Instagram.
Asked a month ago after his successful match with the Blues against Austria, the striker also said: “I have a lot more freedom here, the coach knows that there is a number 9 like Olivier (Giroud). Me, I can walk around, go into space, to ask for balloons. In Paris, it’s is different, there is not that”.
Real Madrid in sight?
Kylian Mbappé remains one of Real Madrid’s priorities. The Merengue want to reshape their attacking sector. The Spanish club wants a ‘fire attack’ for the summer of 2023 or more certainly in 2024, according to the newspaper The Team. Norwegian international Erling Haaland is also courted, but the French international is now the main target.
As a reminder, the star of the Blues extended his contract with PSG for three years on May 21, after a long soap opera during which he was announced at Real Madrid before finally staying in Paris.
