Football: the Variétés Club de France will inaugurate the Jacques-Chirac stadium in Corrèze

The Variétés Club de France, a selection of football stars under the aegis of Jacques Vendroux, will travel on July 2 to Corrèze, to Marcillac-la-Croisille, to inaugurate the Jacques-Chirac stadium, almost three years after the death of the former president of the Fifth Republic. This event will take place for the benefit of the Jacques-Chirac Foundation.

A little over a year after the inauguration of the Charles-de-Gaulle stadium in Colombey-les-Deux-Eglises, in June 2021, the Variétés Club de France will celebrate another president of the 5th Republic on July 2: Jacques Chirac. The team made up of former glories of French football will inaugurate an enclosure in the name of the former politician, who died in September 2019, in the village of Marcillac-la-Croisille, in Corrèze.

Pirès, Karembeu, Koscielny… These stars who will participate

For the inauguration of the Jacques-Chirac stadium, Variétés CF of Jacques Vendroux will be opposed to the local team of AS Marcillac-Clergoux and a selection of players from the department. An event “for the benefit of the Jacques-Chirac Foundation, which works to support people with mental and physical disabilities throughout their lives”, specifies a press release. Claude Chirac, the daughter of the former president, will also be present.

The names of some football stars who will take part in this exhibition have been revealed. Fans will notably find Robert Pirès, Christian Karembeu, Dominique Rocheteau, Alain Giresse, Marius Trésor, or even the regional of the stage Laurent Koscielny. The gala match will begin on Saturday July 2 at 3:30 p.m.
