Change at Sky! The days of Kinowelt.TV and Stingray Classica are numbered. The pay TV provider is kicking out the two channels next month. The reasoning is surprising!

  • From May, the channels Stingray Classica and Kinowelt.TV will be included in the Sky offer.
  • The reasoning of the pay TV provider is somewhat surprising.
  • The channels are currently still part of the cinema package.

Stingray Classica and Kinowelt.TV do not appear to be doing well with Sky customers. Because according to the official statement, those responsible at the pay-TV provider must have already been told sentences like “We don’t want these channels anymore” or something similar. There is no other way of explaining the “at the customer’s request” reason for switching off the two pay-TV channels included in the cinema package.

Official Sky statement surprised

“Our station portfolio is strongly geared to the wishes of our customers and is regularly adjusted accordingly,” says an official statement from the provider about the measure in relation to Kinowelt.TV. The lines regarding Stingray Classica don’t sound much better: “As of May 1, 2022, the station will no longer be available on the Sky platform in German-speaking countries. Customer behavior has changed and it is important to us to regularly adapt the portfolio to customer requirements to adapt”
