Furious, popular and controversial streamer Kaitlyn “Amouranth” Siragusa has railed against those who claim streamers have to be “sexy” to succeed.
With over 5.2 million followers on her Twitch channel, Amouranth is by far one of the most popular streamers on the platform. However, his mad progression has not been smooth sailing.
Between her multiple bans, her delirious investments or the recent sale of the water in her jacuzzi, throughout her career the young woman has not ceased to make headlines.
In the eyes of many Internet users, the only reason why the young woman is successful is her physique, an assertion that she did not take lightly.
Amouranth takes on those who say female streamers succeed because of their looks
Sharing a photo of herself on Twitter where she poses next to popular streamers like Alinity and Alexandra Botez during the Streamer Awards, Amouranth slammed those who say they only succeed because of their looks.
“If you see that all or almost all successful women in streaming look like models and conclude that all it takes to be successful as a content creator is to be sexy, is a bit like coming to the conclusion that all it takes to be successful as a male content creator is to avoid cleaning up around you”she said.
If you see that all/almost all the wiminz who are super successful at streaming “look like super models” (per the take in my DMs, I’m not weighing in on validity of observation) & the conclusion you draw is “ALL IT TAKES TO BE SUCCESSFUL AS A FEMALE CONTENT CREATOR IS TO BE HOT” pic.twitter.com/85Ko2BCkjw

According to Amouranth, judging the success of female streamers by their looks is like “going to a basketball game and coming to the conclusion that all you need to be good is to be great”.
*goes to NBA game and has the epiphany that all it takes to be a professional basketball player is to be born tall*
*goes to formula 1 race and deduce that all it takes to succeed is to pilot a fast car*
Blissfully ignorant take

Unsurprisingly, Amouranth’s thoughts sparked a real outcry on social media, once again reigniting the debate around Twitch’s double standards.
