Xiaomi continues to expand its offer for an ever more connected home. After air purifiers, surveillance cameras and kettles, the firm is launching a food dispenser and a fountain for animals. These Smart Pet Feeder and Smart Pet Fountain are obviously connected and should therefore facilitate the feeding of animals in the home, or at least cats and dogs.
To drink and to eat
The Smart Pet Feeder is more precisely used to distribute dry food – understand kibble. Its tank can hold up to 1.8 kg and keep them fresh thanks to a “triple moisture proof design”. Inside, a system allows you to push the kibble towards the bowl on the front. Xiaomi specifies that they go through a “wide channel” to prevent them from getting stuck there and that precise quantities can be defined from the app, with which the distributor communicates via wifi. The dispensing time can be programmed and alerts are provided to let the user know that the tank will soon be empty.
The Smart Pet Feeder has a backup battery to operate in the event of a power outage. Xiaomi adds that it has tested it over 10,000 dispensing cycles. It should therefore be possible to go on weekends with peace of mind, but the Smart Pet Feeder can also make everyday life with a gluttonous animal easier. It is available today at the introductory price of €110 instead of €130 (from October 11) and does not arrive alone, but with a fountain.
The Smart Pet Fountain intends to offer healthy water to the animal, without having to change it every day. It includes a 2 liter tank and a pump in charge of keeping the water moving to limit the development of bacteria. A four-stage filtration system is provided to remove fine particles, hair and chlorine. As on the kibble dispenser, a wifi connection is provided. If there is no command here, and therefore nothing to control remotely, it must facilitate the maintenance of the fountain by sending alerts when it is necessary to add water, but also when it is necessary to clean it. and replace its filter.
The Smart Pet Fountain is launched at the recommended retail price of €80, but also benefits from an introductory offer. Valid until October 10, it can then be purchased for €70.
