For Apple, Samsung copied the iPhone by just putting “a bigger screen around it”


Some executives at Apple still have accounts to ask Samsung. A recent report published in the wall street journal shows one of the co-creators of the iPhone very upset against the South Korean manufacturer.

New scuffle in the historic war between Apple and Samsung. On the occasion of the 15th anniversary of the release of the iPhone, the wall street journal released a documentary that reviews the development, marketing and evolution of this iconic product since its debut on June 29, 2007. A “pale copy” from iPhone

Asked about the “phablet” turn that Samsung took with its first Galaxy S and Note, Greg Joswiak, current head of global marketing for Apple and co-creator of the iPhone according to legend, is bitter. “They were painfuladmits the manager. A warning that did not prevent Samsung from continuing to successfully market its Galaxy Note series with ever larger screens. Even the Galaxy S series, the iPhone’s front-end competitor, often accused of copying and pasting Apple’s innovations, got into it with the Galaxy S4, which sported a 5-inch screen, a giant format for 2013. iPhone 5, released in 2012, sported a 4-inch screen. It was not until the birth of the iPhone 6 Plus in 2014 that Apple finally marketed more massive mobiles, to the great satisfaction of its public since this mobile was a great success.

The memory of a historic trial

There’s no denying that Apple popularized the all-touch format with the first iPhone. At the time, Google was already considering marketing Android mobiles, but with a design closer to that of the BlackBerrys of the time. However, none of the technologies employed by the iPhone were truly revolutionary. Each of the innovations on board the Apple mobile had been seen elsewhere. The company’s masterstroke was to bring them all together in one easy-to-use device.
