A princess behind bars – but only briefly: Princess Kate visited a prison in England for a charity project.

Princess Kate (41) went to prison. Of course, the future Queen of Great Britain did not become a criminal, but was once again charitable. Prince William’s wife, 41, visited HMP High Down Prison, a men’s detention center in the southern county of Surrey England. There she supported a charity project in the fight against addictions.

For the prison visit, Princess Kate chose a figure-hugging trouser suit by designer Alexander McQueen. Attentive viewers of the pictures will notice that Kate had bandaged the index and ring fingers on her right hand. According to the Daily Mail, the princess is said to be sustained this minor injury while playing with their children on a trampoline. But it was only “a small injury, nothing serious” and certainly not a break, a spokesman for Kensington Palace reassured the newspaper.

On site, Princess Kate talked to employees and prisoners and found out first-hand how the non-profit organization Forward Trust helps people with addictions there. As with all other visitors, the usual safety regulations initially applied to the Royal. Pictures show, for example, how the princess was examined – or rather under her nose – by a sniffer dog before entering the facility in order to check for hidden drugs.

Busy royals

Like Princess Kate, her husband is also busy working as a royal. Prince William will travel to the USA next week to promote his environmental project called Earthshot. His younger brother Prince Harry (38), however, is currently in Germany until September 16th to actively support his Invictus Games there. He will also spend his 39th birthday on September 15th in Düsseldorf.
