Ridley Scott is probably working on a new “Alien” movie – but Fede Álvarez is said to be directing it. It is the seventh installment in the film series.

At 20th Century Studios, a new “Alien” movie is probably in the making. That reports including “The Hollywood Reporter”. Accordingly, Ridley Scott (84), who directed the original 1979 film, is said to be involved as a producer. In terms of directing, he clears the way for a younger man: Filmmaker Fede Álvarez (44) is said to be responsible for the screenplay in addition to directing.

The still untitled film is not supposed to be a sequel or a prequel to the six-part science fiction series, but an independent feature film. Álvarez is very familiar with the horror genre: the Uruguayan directed the feature films “Evil Dead” and “Don’t Breathe”, among others.

New “Alien” film will probably be seen on Disney +

While the new “Alien” adventure is expected to be seen on the Disney streaming platform Hulu in the United States, it is likely to end up on the Disney+ streaming service in Germany. The previous “Alien” films, from the original from 1979 and the three sequels to the two prequels “Prometheus” and “Alien: Covenant” as well as two crossover films, can also be seen there.

A comeback of film heroine Ellen Ripley (Sigourney Weaver, 72) is probably not to be expected.
