To embody an emperor in Firstly. II, a famous actor was needed. Denis Villeneuve therefore stopped on Christopher Walken.

The film is still expected for October 2023.

Major Actor for Major Character

After Florence Pugh and Austin Butler, Denis Villeneuve continues his shopping to expand the cast of Firstly. II. This time, it’s none other than the Oscar-winning actor Christopher Walken who joins the adventure. Last seen on the Apple TV+ series Severance (which we heartily recommend, by the way), the 79-year-old will play Emperor Padishah Shaddam IV.

The latter, absent in the first film, is nevertheless important in Frank Herbert’s novels. It was he who sent House Atreides (Oscar Isaac, Timothée Chalamet and Rebecca Ferguson) to the planet Arrakis. See you over a year from now to see the Emperor’s reaction to the Fremen’s actions.
